About Us
The Joseph Kavanagh Company was founded in 1866 by Joseph M. Kavanagh. The business was started as Coppersmiths - Designers & Builders of Distilling Equipment.
During World War II, the company was considered a defense contractor in that it repaired distilling equipment for alcohol plants.
After the war, most of the distilleries went out of business and the company began experimenting with bending pipes and tubes.
In 1959, John J. Kavanagh, Sr. purchased a tube bender and the company became a pipe and tube bending business. By 1970, John Sr. had purchased the first rolling machine and began rolling angles and pipes.
In July, 1986 John J. Kavanagh, Sr. retired from The Joseph Kavanagh Co. and control of the company was assumed by his sons, John J. Kavanagh, Jr. and Joseph M. Kavanagh, and his daughter, Ann M. Kavanagh.
In January, 1989 The Joseph Kavanagh Company was purchased by John, Jr., Joseph and Ann Kavanagh. They represent the fifth generation of The Joseph Kavanagh Company family operations.
